Situated above the River Loch, the Pont-Brech links the communes of Brec'h, Plumergat and Sainte-Anne d'Auray.
This trail will enhance the continuity of the the historic route to Santiago de Compostela. The presence of the mill, the wash-house, the Saint-Jacques chapel and its fountain bear witness to this.
Formerly made of stone, the Brech Bridge has been restored as part of the Auray Quiberon Terre Atlantique community's "Nature and Heritage" integration programme to enhance this natural area. They built a wooden deck and footbridge along the length of the bridge to provide access to the other bank.
The walking route near Vannes
- Here are the stages of the route:
Start: Take the François Audic lane near the telephone box. At the well, turn left into rue de la Maison du Four. At the calvary, turn left up the Chemin de la Croix Courte to Rue Georges Cadoudal. Turn right. After 10 m, follow rue du Tanin. At the end of the road, turn left.
1- Turn to the right in the track of Pont Brec'h. Go down, turn to the right. Viewpoint on the pond of Tréauray where stood the mill of Pont Brec'h.
2- Go back the way you came, up the track to the road.
3- Cross the rue du Loc'h, and take the track opposite, on the left of the Saint-Jacques chapel, for 600 m. Then follow the wooded track.
4- After the meadow below, go through the gap in the stone wall. You arrive at the river Loc'h. Follow the path to the fountain and go up to the road.
5- Turn right to go down to the Treuroux mill.
6- Go back the way you came. To the right of the copse, a few steps lead into the wood. Follow the embankment up to the track.
7- At the end of the track, take the road on the left which leads to the village of Brec'h after 1 km. You can go back to the village by the path along the river Loc'h.
8- Find the village of Brec'h.
