Why Dammann Frères teas?
A historic French brand
In 1692, King Louis XIV granted Sieur Damame the exclusive privilege of selling tea in France. It was the start of a long story...
Dammann Frères, a French tea company, was founded in 1925. Initially specialising in the manufacture and import of tea, the brand was then sold exclusively in luxury hotels and grocery shops in France, before opening up to the general public in 2005. Today, it is France's largest and oldest tea company.
Our favourite Dammann Frères
We have chosen the Dammann teas because this tea house is French and has been around forever!
It's also one of the last to master all aspects of the tea business, from A to Z: from purchasing (directly from the farmers with whom they have maintained a strong historical link), to the composition of the blends by a flavourist, to the preparation of the teas by a tea merchant. packaging (in tins, sachets or bags) and distribution in France and around the world.
With its know-how and inventiveness, this company offers us the very best teas, from best-sellers to unique creations.

Tea and its health benefits
Why is it good to drink tea?
Tea is a well-known invitation to taste journey and is appreciated for its many health benefits. Tea contains theine, caffeine, tannins, proteins, albumin, amino acids and minerals. Rich in antioxidants that are good for the heart, arteries and skin, tea is the most widely consumed hot beverage in the world.
Two cups of tea = seven glasses of orange juice OR three and a half glasses of blackcurrant juice OR six apples.
- Here's a little tip on how to benefit even more from its antioxidant virtues: add lemon! According to scientists, lemon prevents certain antioxidants present in tea - catechins - from being destroyed as they pass through our digestive system. They are then better assimilated by the body. The disadvantage: it kills the original taste of tea.
How long should I leave my tea to brew?
If you want an energy boost, leave brew your tea less than 3 minutes: theine and antioxidants are released in the first three minutes of infusion. If you want it to be less energising, leave it to infuse for longer than 3 minutes: the tannins released will inhibit the theine, but the drink will be more bitter!
What colour of tea should I choose?
Each colour of tea has its own particularity and health advantage !
- Le red tea or "Rooibos contains no theine and is very rich in antioxidants. It helps to combat cell ageing, is draining and calorie-free. Rooibos does not excite, so it can be drunk throughout the day.
- Le white tea prevents the risk of developing cancer and also slows skin ageing thanks to its antioxidants. It may also stop the development of enzymes that alter collagen, thereby slowing the appearance of wrinkles.
- Le green tea has beneficial effects in combating depression. Researchers have found that this tea seems to stimulate the nervous pleasure circuits.
- Le black teaThanks to its high flavonoid content, it has a particularly protective effect against cardiovascular disease. However, to benefit from this protective effect, you need to drink at least 3 cups a day without adding anything (sugar, milk, etc.).
